A Mobile Plant Solution | Improving Goldmine Productivity
Machines: Terex Finlay J-1175 Jaw Crusher, C-1540 Cone Crusher, 693+ Screen & Tracked Feeder Unit
Location: Goldfields WA
Material: Gold Ore
Topic: Mobile plant upgrade
Problem:
Our client who operates a gold mine, sources ore from an open pit. Processing the ore occurs through a traditional crushing, milling and carbon-in-leach process. Consequently, their mill circuit struggled to operate at capacity, producing scat. Our client’s aim was to increase gold production through optimisation. After cost analysis, they concluded that upgrading the fixed crushing circuit would be expensive. As a result, they asked OPS Screening and Crushing Equipment to provide a solution.
Solution:
- A Terex Finlay J-1175 Jaw Crusher
- C-1540 Cone Crusher
- 693+ Screen
- And a Tracked Feeder
As a result of this simple mobile plant, our client was able to produce a smaller -16mm product either from ROM material or from the stockpiled mill scats. Due to the potential contamination of mill balls, we set the crushing circuit up with extra magnets and increased the sensitivity of the C-1540 factory fitted metal detector.
Outcomes:
- Production of smaller feed material.
- Increased gold production without any fixed plant upgrades.
- Reduced downtime.
- Greater mobility.
